Maggie Ortiz-Millan is a current Program Manager at the EERI. She earned an M.Eng. in Structural Engineering, Mechanics, and Materials and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. As a graduate student she studied the effects of large drifts and accelerations on concrete cladding façade panel systems through experiments conducted at NEES laboratories at the University of California, Berkeley and the E-Defense testing facility in Japan. As Program Manager, she manages several internally and externally funded programs and projects including EERI’s Learning from Earthquakes Program, the World Housing Encyclopedia, and the Concrete Coalition. She also has one year of experience as a project manager at GeoHazards International managing earthquake risk reduction projects in Haiti.
