Dustin Cook is an NRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. As part of the Earthquake Engineering Group, Dustin specializes in performance-based earthquake engineering and risk quantification and is currently working on using performance-based analysis tools to develop prescriptive design requirements targeted at improved functional recovery performance. Previously, Dustin worked with the Haselton Baker Risk Group to help create the Seismic Performance Prediction Program (SP3) for performance-based design and risk assessment. Dustin is a registered Civil Engineer in the state of California, serves as a co-chair on the EERI younger members committee, acts as secretary for the World Housing Encyclopedia, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021.
