Heidi Tremayne received her Bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2004. During her final year at university, Heidi conducted a project where she tested adobe specimens to compare various reinforcement methods used to enhance the performance of adobe houses during earthquake shaking. It was this project that sparked her interest in seismically resistant housing. After graduating Heidi was employed by EERI as an assistant to the Learning from Earthquakes program where she delved into the creation of EERI’s earthquake clearinghouse, contributed to the editing and authoring of many World Housing Encyclopedia reports and explored several emerging earthquake reconnaissance technologies.

Heidi is a licensed California Professional Engineer and is currently employed as the Outreach Director for the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER) based at University of California at Berkeley where she works on various projects that transition research findings to practicing engineers.
