Understanding Vulnerability of Housing Worldwide

PAGER (Prompt Assessment of Global Earthquakes for Response) is a project of the US Geological Survey. Researchers at PAGER are looking for better estimates of building inventory and building vulnerability worldwide. In this connection, USGS has approached the World Housing Encyclopedia project for collaboration on its PAGER project. (PAGER: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/pager/; WHE: www.world-housing.net).

These estimates are based on expert judgment, to provide an order-of-magnitude, broad overview of vulnerability in a particular country. They are not intended to substitute for detailed, statistical inventories or models. Some of the preliminary results of the collaborative effort are reported here. Click here for the SURVEY FORM with its various tables that researchers were asked to fill out:
for a fillable PDF (requires Adobe 6.0 or higher), and

      for a WORD file.
